SHABD, AIR, HQ | December 8: Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that the government has initiated a provision under the Market Intervention Scheme to guarantee fair prices for farmers’ produce.

Addressing the Agri Business Summit 2025 in New Delhi, the minister explained that for horticulture crops, if market prices fall below a defined threshold, the government will directly transfer the difference between the model price and the selling price into the farmer’s bank account.
He emphasised that this mechanism will protect farmers from market volatility and ensure income stability, especially in sectors vulnerable to price fluctuations.
