Tripura, Sept 26, 2025: In a bid to promote organic farming and diversify crop cultivation, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has distributed Rambutan and improved varieties of mango saplings to local farmers under the Mission Organic project in Jirania subdivision.
According to officials, three farmers from West Barjala received 45 Rambutan saplings, while one farmer from Bishrambari was given 15 Rambutan saplings. In addition, 20 improved mango saplings were provided to a farmer in West Barjala, and 295 mango saplings were distributed among five farmers in West Debendranagar.
The initiative, which incurred a total expenditure of ₹1,28,500, aims to boost fruit cultivation and provide sustainable income opportunities for farmers in the region.
Jirania Agriculture Supervisor Somen Kumar Das confirmed the details of the programme.
