Agartala, Apr 11: With the TTAADC elections scheduled for April 12, polling personnel across Dhalai district began departing for their respective polling stations on Saturday morning, carrying Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and other essential election materials. Authorities confirmed that all arrangements have been completed to ensure a smooth, free, and peaceful voting process.
District Magistrate Vivek H. B. stated that from 9 AM onwards, polling teams started collecting election materials from designated distribution centers before heading to their assigned locations. A total of 273 polling stations fall under six TTAADC constituencies in the district.
Polling personnel are being dispatched primarily from three key centers—Kulai Champahour (No. 10), Longtharai Valley, and Gandacharra. Officials reported high activity at distribution points since early morning to ensure timely and secure movement of staff and equipment.
In a notable development, some polling teams from Kulai Champahour used battery-operated e-rickshaws to transport election materials due to transportation constraints in certain areas. The alternative arrangement ensured that no delays occurred in reaching remote polling stations.
By around 10 AM, polling staff from Kulai Champahour had completed the collection of materials and proceeded toward their destinations.
With logistics and security measures in place, the administration is now focused on facilitating voter participation as the district prepares for polling day.
