Khowai, Apr 11. Polling personnel on Saturday departed from Khowai Zilla Parishad ground with EVM machines and election materials for the upcoming TTAADC elections scheduled on April 12. Officials assigned to 9-Asharambari–Halahali and 12-Ramchandra Ghat constituencies reached their respective destinations by 3 PM.
A total of 47 polling stations fall under the 9-Asharambari–Halahali seat, while 41 polling stations are under 12-Ramchandra Ghat. Large numbers of polling staff gathered in the morning before dispatch.
Authorities ensured tight security arrangements, deploying sufficient security personnel along with polling teams. Notably, women constables of the state police, equipped with firearms, were also assigned for election duty this time.
Returning Officer and Khowai Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nirmal Kumar stated that central forces have been deployed extensively to ensure peaceful polling. Voting will begin at 7 AM on April 12, with strict monitoring in place to prevent any disruption.
