Agartala: Apr 06. Promising solutions to long-standing road and water issues and a push for restructuring the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) into a Tripura Autonomous Territorial Council (TATC), BJP candidate and State General Secretary Bipin Debbarma addressed a Market Gathering (Bazar Sabha) in S.K. Para under the Damcherra-Kachucherra constituency.
Speaking at the gathering, Bipin Debbarma assured voters that if given an opportunity, the BJP would resolve key infrastructure problems within two years of forming the council government. He criticized local leadership, alleging that elected representatives had failed to spend even “five minutes” with the people over the past five years.
The BJP leader also highlighted welfare commitments, stating that the party’s manifesto includes extending benefits like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to TTAADC areas, which he claimed were previously excluded. He added that beneficiaries from the Left regime would be reconsidered and provided support again, along with LPG gas connections.
Emphasizing administrative reforms, Debbarma said the BJP aims to transform the existing District Council into the Tripura Autonomous Territorial Council (TATC), on the lines of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), with enhanced powers. He further assured that rights related to land, forests, and provisions under the proposed 125th Amendment Bill would be safeguarded.
“As our government is in power both at the Centre and the state, we are accountable to deliver for all,” he said.
Debbarma also informed that the party’s 29-point manifesto outlining key initiatives would be distributed to every household in the constituency.
The meeting was attended by BJP leaders Paritosh Debbarma, Radhamala Debbarma, and Meri Debbarma, who recently joined the party.
During the programme, five voters from two families formally joined the BJP.
