Agartala: Apr 03. A door-to-door awareness campaign on Buisu Festival 2026 entered its second day today across Longtharai Valley Sub-Division, with organisers stepping up efforts to promote participation ahead of the April 12–14 celebrations.
Led by Samir Tripura, General Secretary of Tripura Swrwngnai Buthu (TSB), the initiative is being conducted in collaboration with Tripura Chubalai Buthu (TCB), Tripura Writers Forum (TWF), and Naran Pumang Roaja Council.
The campaign, which began on April 2, focuses on spreading awareness about the cultural and traditional significance of Buisu among indigenous communities. Volunteer teams are visiting households in areas including Manu and Chawmanu blocks, distributing informational materials and encouraging residents to actively take part in the festival.
Organisers said the drive aims to preserve indigenous heritage and educate the younger generation about key observances such as Hari Buisu and Maha Buisu, while promoting a peaceful and inclusive celebration.
Samir Tripura stressed that grassroots initiatives like this play a vital role in strengthening cultural identity and community unity.
The organisers added that the campaign is being carried out peacefully with due permission from authorities and in full compliance with administrative guidelines. The awareness drive will continue till April 14.
