Dharmanagar, Apr 02. Ahead of the upcoming by-election in the 56-Dharmanagar Assembly constituency, a high-level coordination meeting was held involving district police and central forces to ensure free, fair, and peaceful polling. Authorities have decided to strengthen security arrangements, intensify area domination, and enhance coordination among forces to prevent any untoward incidents.
The meeting was conducted in the presence of Police Observer Sh. S. Sateesh Bino, focusing primarily on maintaining law and order during the election period. Key discussions revolved around seamless coordination between the district police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), area familiarisation for deployed personnel, and strategic deployment of forces to ensure uninterrupted security.
Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, Commandant of 13th Battalion TSR, Additional SP Kamal Debbarma, company commanders, and other senior officials from CAPF and police attended the meeting.
Officials emphasized that both police and central forces will work jointly to safeguard the democratic process and instill confidence among voters. Strict vigilance, regular patrolling, and intensified area domination exercises have been directed to ensure voters can cast their votes without fear.
The administration reiterated its firm stance against any disruption, assuring that comprehensive measures are in place to maintain peace throughout the election period.
