South Tripura: Feb 23. In a significant political development ahead of the upcoming TTAADC village committee elections, 117 voters from 43 families formally joined the Tipra Motha at a joining programme held at Chelagang Old Motor Stand under 21-Maharani Chelagang constituency.
The new members, who reportedly left various political parties, were welcomed into the party by Central Committee Spokesperson Rajyeswar Debbarma, who handed over party flags to mark their induction.
Among those present at the event were MLA Pathan Lal Jamatia, South Zonal Joint Chairman Harendra Reang, Central Youth Leader Gaurav Mog Choudhury, Karbook Block Committee Secretary Bishal Debbarma, Gomati District Youth President Sujoy Uchoi, Karbook Block President Hironmoy Tripura, Santirbazar Block President Roshanjit Reang, and other party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, speakers strongly criticised the policies and functioning of the BJP-led government and expressed confidence that Tipra Motha candidates would secure victory from the Maharani Chelagang seat in the forthcoming TTAADC polls.
A rally was also organised as part of the programme, drawing notable participation from local residents. The procession passed through several nearby areas, boosting enthusiasm among party workers ahead of the elections.
