Agartala: Feb 22. In a brazen daylight robbery, two unidentified youths snatched a gold chain from a shop owner at Ramnagar 6 No. Road, 2 No. Crossing, and fled on a motorcycle within moments. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the accused.
According to locals, the duo arrived in the area on a motorbike. While one of them waited outside with the engine running, the other entered the shop posing as a customer. He engaged the shop owner by asking to see items and pretending to make a purchase. Seizing the opportunity, he suddenly pulled the gold chain from the owner’s neck and rushed out of the store.
The accomplice, who was already prepared outside, helped him escape swiftly from the spot. The suddenness of the act left the shop owner stunned, and before anyone nearby could react, the accused had disappeared from the busy locality.
Police have collected the CCTV footage from the shop and are examining it to trace the suspects.
Officials stated that efforts are underway to identify the motorcycle and track the movement of the accused.
