Agartala: Feb 13. The Tripura Cabinet has approved the creation and filling up of 555 posts across multiple departments, beginning with a major recruitment drive under the Tripura Information Technology Service. As many as 330 new posts will be created in the IT cadre, marking one of the largest expansions in recent years.
In the Animal Resource Development Department, 110 Veterinary Officer (Group B) posts will be filled through the Tripura Public Service Commission. The Health and Family Welfare Department has been allowed to recruit 100 Multi-Purpose Workers — 50 male and 50 female — through a competitive examination. Eight Multi-Tasking Staff posts in the Directorate of Prosecution will be filled through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura, while seven Lower Division Clerk posts will be recruited in the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency.
The Cabinet also gave the green signal for setting up a 60-seat Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Tepania in Gomati district from the 2026–27 academic session, with a temporary campus at Chandrapur. A 60-seat Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital will be established at the Netaji Subhas State Home Hospital in Agartala, West Tripura.
Additionally, the house rent allowance for Tripura State Rifles personnel posted in New Delhi has been increased from 24 per cent to 27 per cent with effect from November 2024. The boarding house stipend under the Tribal Welfare Department has also been raised from ₹80 to ₹100 per day.
These decisions were announced by Cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manik Saha at a press conference.
