Dharmanagar: Feb 13. A 39-year-old man was found hanging in the Dharmanagar area of North Tripura this morning, triggering sensation in the locality. The deceased has been identified as Rabindra Das (39), a daily wage labourer and resident of Ward No. 3 under Dupirbond Lalchhara Gram Panchayat.
Local sources informed, he left his house around 3 a.m. yesterday and did not return. This morning, his wife woke up and found him hanging from a jujube tree near their house. Upon receiving information, police from Dharmanagar Police Station rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
Police officials, including Officer-in-Charge Mina Debbarma and Sub-Inspector Niranjan Malakar, along with TSR personnel, reached the scene and initiated a preliminary investigation.
The body was later sent to Dharmanagar District Hospital for post-mortem examination and is currently kept in the hospital morgue. The body will be handed over to the family after the autopsy. The exact cause behind the death is yet to be ascertained.
