Tripura, 13 Feb 2026: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Thursday said Tripura is increasingly emerging as a guiding state for others in implementing development-oriented policies, attributing this progress to the state’s stable law and order and peaceful social environment.
He was speaking at the release of the Strategic Approach to Industrial Development roadmap prepared by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the Tripura Institute of Transformation (TIT) War Room.
The Chief Minister said the ADB-supported roadmap would accelerate long-term industrial growth in Tripura and help position the state as a regional trade and manufacturing hub. He noted that the state government has prioritised sectors such as rubber, bamboo, and food processing for industrial expansion.
Dr. Saha added that Tripura has moved ahead of many Indian states in implementing the Central Government’s vision-driven development programmes, and emphasised that rapid progress of states would collectively strengthen national growth. He said increasing interest from external investors in setting up industries in Tripura reflects the positive impact of the industrial roadmap and the state’s investor-friendly policies.
Describing ADB’s support as a major achievement, the Chief Minister said the state aims to harness its abundant raw materials and human resources to fast-track industrialisation and build a “New Tripura.”
Asian Development Bank Country Director Mio Oka said such industrial development roadmaps would significantly contribute to building a developed India and praised Tripura’s infrastructure progress. Officials from the Industries and Commerce Department briefed the Chief Minister on ongoing projects and plans in the sector.
Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Chairman Nabadal Banik, Industries and Commerce Director Dr. Deepak Kumar, and ADB officials were present at the programme.
