Dharmanagar: Feb 09. As part of the Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Mission (PMSMA), a special antenatal health camp was successfully organised at the conference hall of Kadamtala Rural Hospital (CHC) on Monday. A total of 37 pregnant women from the area underwent comprehensive health check-ups and received nutritional support during the programme.
All the beneficiaries were screened by Dr Dipal Chakma, an experienced physician of Kadamtala CHC. Health officials confirmed that no serious complications were detected, and none of the women required referral for advanced medical treatment.
Along with medical screening, the camp focused on maternal awareness, particularly on balanced nutrition during pregnancy, prevention of anaemia, and the importance of regular antenatal check-ups and delivery preparedness. Necessary medicines were distributed free of cost, and special food baskets were provided to improve maternal nutrition.
The programme was conducted smoothly with the support of a staff nurse, one multipurpose health worker, and five ASHA workers, who assisted in coordination and outreach.
Hospital authorities stated that such initiatives are regularly undertaken to ensure safe motherhood and reduction of maternal mortality. The enthusiastic participation of pregnant women contributed significantly to the success of the camp.
