Tripura, 07 Feb 2026: West Tripura Police have taken swift action in connection with a recent viral incident involving the assault of a minor girl in the Narsingarh area.
According to police sources, a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing a minor girl being tied up and physically assaulted by local residents. Taking immediate cognisance of the matter, the Officer-in-Charge of Airport Police Station, along with police officers and staff, promptly launched an operation and arrested three women who were allegedly involved in the offence.
A specific case has been registered under Sections 127(2), 117(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
Police officials stated that strict legal action will be taken against the accused. The prompt response, they added, reflects the police administration’s firm commitment to safeguarding the safety, dignity and rights of children and ensuring that such acts of violence are dealt with decisively under the law.
