Tripura, 06 Feb 2026: In a move aimed at strengthening regional news production and language-based bulletins, the Regional News Unit (RNU), DD News Agartala, under Prasar Bharati, has issued a notification inviting applications for empanelment of Casual Assignees in multiple professional categories.
According to the official notification, Indian citizens residing in Tripura can apply for casual assignments in positions including Assistant News Editor, Video Editor, News Reader (Bengali and Kokborok), Copy Editor (Kokborok), CG Operator, Website Assistant, and Stenographer. The prescribed age limit varies between 21 and 50 years, depending on the category.








The broadcaster has laid emphasis on professional qualifications and relevant field experience, particularly in journalism, mass communication, video editing, computer applications, and broadcasting. For editorial and presentation roles, proficiency in Bengali and Kokborok, along with sound knowledge of current regional, national, and international affairs, has been identified as a key requirement.
Remuneration for selected candidates will range from ₹1,125 to ₹2,400 per day per shift, subject to role and experience. For News Readers, higher rates are applicable for multiple bulletins during a single shift.
Prasar Bharati has clarified that the empanelment is purely casual in nature and does not amount to regular or permanent employment. Empanelled candidates may be assigned a maximum of seven duties per month. The organization reserves the right to conduct written tests, interviews, auditions, and skill assessments to evaluate suitability.
Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format along with self-attested copies of required documents via Speed Post or email within 30 days of the publication of the notification. Applications submitted through hand delivery or courier services will not be considered.
