Udaipur: Feb 06: Supporting the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, the Gomati district unit of the BJP held an important press conference on Thursday at the party’s district office in Udaipur.
Addressing the media, Tripura’s Tourism and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the Union Budget for the 2026 financial year has been framed in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat”, keeping the 2047 development target in focus. He described the budget as inclusive and people-oriented, catering to the needs of the poor, middle class, and affluent sections alike.
Highlighting the financial aspects, the minister said the total budget outlay has increased significantly. While the previous fiscal year saw an allocation of ₹50.65 lakh crore, the current budget stands at ₹53.05 lakh crore—an increase of approximately ₹2.81 lakh crore. He expressed confidence that the enhanced allocation would play a crucial role in strengthening sectors such as education, healthcare, women empowerment, and overall socio-economic development.
Chowdhury further stated that the budget would help reinforce India’s economic foundation and accelerate the country’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.
The press conference was attended by Gomati district BJP president Sabita Nag, district general secretary Uttam De, along with other senior party leaders and workers.
At the conclusion of the interaction, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a budget that, he said, provides a clear roadmap for the nation’s progress.
