Agartala: Feb 03. In an effort to build an anemia-free society, a special ‘13’ camp (Test, Treat & Talk) was organized at Panisagar Higher Secondary School today.
The camp was conducted under the initiative of the West Panisagar Sub-Health Centre, functioning under Panisagar Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH). A total of 61 men and women from the locality underwent health screening during the camp.
The primary objective of the camp was early identification and management of anemia through a three-step approach blood testing, medical treatment, and health awareness. All participants had their hemoglobin levels tested, and those found with symptoms of anemia were immediately provided with Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) tablets.
The camp was successfully carried out with the active involvement of health department staff. Laboratory Technician Vidyarthi Sarkar conducted the blood tests, while Multi-Purpose Workers Satyajit Das and Ananta Debnath assisted in the medical and outreach activities.
Along with medical services, an awareness session was held to educate participants on anemia, the importance of iron-rich and balanced nutrition, and the role of personal hygiene in disease prevention.
The initiative was appreciated by school teachers and local residents. Officials stated that similar screening and awareness camps will be organized regularly across other parts of the block in the coming days.
