Agartala, Nov 30: Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Choudhury on Sunday stressed the need to protect youth from exploitation while attending a blood donation camp organised by DYFI at Chatra-Juba Bhavan.
Choudhury said that while blood donation is important, the bigger challenge is the social environment where certain groups use young people for their own interests which lead to frequent violence and bloodshed. He pointed out that Tripura witnesses incidents of blood loss almost every day due to accidents or political clashes, making strong blood bank reserves essential.
The camp, organised by the Agartala Regional Committee of DYFI, saw active participation from volunteers.
Choudhury appreciated the initiative, saying it would help meet the state’s ongoing need for blood.
