Agartala, Nov 29: The Tripura TET Teachers’ Welfare Association (TTTWA) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister’s Office, urging the government to resolve several long-standing issues related to teachers’ pay structure, financial benefits, and service conditions. The deputation was handed over to the Secretary to the Chief Minister on Friday.
According to the Association, teachers in the state are facing multiple discrepancies in their pay scale, especially among different batches of TET-qualified teachers. They demanded full implementation of Pay Commission benefits and a uniform pay structure similar to what teachers in many other states currently receive.
The memorandum also sought conversion of MACP to ACP, which the Association said would ensure fair and timely career progression. Another major demand was raising the gratuity limit to ₹25 lakh in line with Central Government rules. The Association further appealed for full Dearness Allowance (DA) at Central rates, stating that rising expenses have put additional financial pressure on teachers.
Other concerns listed in the deputation include grade pay differences, pay stagnation, delays in financial increments, and unresolved service-related issues affecting teachers across the state.
Speaking to the media, TTTWA State Secretary Ajoy Pal said teachers in Tripura remain deprived of several benefits that are available to teachers in many other parts of the country. He urged the government to take prompt action and address the demands placed in the memorandum.
The Association said it will continue to follow up with the authorities and expects early steps from the government to ensure better service security and financial stability for teachers.
