Tripura, 27 Nov 2025: Reckless and careless driving continues to cause frequent road accidents in the region. On Wednesday night, at around 9:40 PM, a TVS scooty bearing registration number TR 08 D 8468 met with a tragic accident at Ratachhara in Patichhari under Shantir Bazar subdivision.
Upon receiving the information, the Shantir Bazar Fire Service personnel immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the two injured individuals. They were taken to Shantir Bazar District Hospital, where the attending doctor declared one of them dead. The other victim, who suffered critical injuries, was referred to Agartala GBP Hospital for advanced treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Biplab Debbarma (26), a resident of Mahananda Vaishnab Para, while the injured person is Sohel Reang, from Goodrai Reang Para.
According to Shantir Bazar Police and Fire Service officials, overspeeding and loss of control are suspected to be the primary causes of the accident. Preliminary findings suggest that the scooty lost control and crashed into a tree with force, resulting in the immediate death of one rider.
The deceased’s body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem at Shantir Bazar District Hospital on Thursday.
