Tripura, 25 Nov 2025: On the night of 23 November, around 11 PM, local resident Amit Sarkar was returning home from Vigorous Club through the West Noabadi area when he noticed a white Hyundai Aura (Registration No. TR01BK0451) parked in the middle of the road in front of the house of a local resident identified as Mithu Roy. Several individuals were seen unloading items from the vehicle and carrying them inside the house, raising Amit Sarkar’s suspicion.
As the car was obstructing the road, Amit Sarkar politely requested Mithu Roy to move the vehicle to the side. Moments later, Mithu Roy along with three to four others allegedly attacked and brutally assaulted him.

Residents immediately informed the Bodhjungnagar Police Station, and a police team rushed to the spot. However, locals allege that police did not take any action and even allowed the vehicle to leave without questioning.
Residents claim that Mithu Roy’s house has long been a hub of various illegal and immoral activities, including alleged prostitution, but despite repeated complaints, no action has been taken by the police. They also allege that the area sees a spike in antisocial activities and drug abuse after evening, making the locality unsafe.
In protest, a delegation led by Aseem Sarkar, President of the Tripura State Kapali Samaj, met the Superintendent of Police (West District) today and submitted a deputation demanding strict action. The SP listened to their concerns attentively and assured increased police patrolling in the area, along with necessary action against those involved in the assault on Amit Sarkar.
