Tripura, 25 Nov 2025: The state government has decided to regularize the ad-hoc promotion policy that was introduced for government employees in 2021. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the decision today at a press conference held at the Secretariat.
Addressing the media in the evening at the Secretariat’s press conference hall, Minister Chowdhury stated that the government had adopted the ad-hoc promotion policy as a temporary measure because a related case was pending in the Supreme Court. Under this policy, more than 13,082 state government employees received ad-hoc promotions up to June 2025.
However, many of these employees were facing financial disadvantages after retirement. Considering the overall circumstances and keeping the welfare of the employees in mind, the state government has now decided to extend the benefits of regularization to all employees, including those who have already retired.
Minister Chowdhury clarified that this decision has been taken subject to the final judgment of the Supreme Court in the ongoing case.
