Tripura, 25 Nov 2025: The Dhalai District Administration, in partnership with the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) and the District Mission Management Unit (DMMU), formally launched the Nayi Chetna 4.0 – An Initiative for Change campaign at Protiz Hall in Ambassa on 25 November 2025. The programme, which will continue till 23 December, was inaugurated through a webcast by the Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Tripura.
This year’s Nayi Chetna campaign focuses on strengthening women’s safety and empowerment, preventing gender-based violence, promoting social equality, and enhancing the economic participation of Self Help Group (SHG) members across Dhalai district. The administration aims to drive collective community action and deepen awareness at the grassroots level.

The launch event was attended by key district officials, including the Sabhadhipati of Dhalai Zilla Parishad, the Chairman of Ambassa Municipal Council, the Additional District Magistrate of Dhalai, the Lead District Manager, DISE officials, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, officers of DMMU Dhalai and Block Mission Coordinators representing all four blocks of the district. A large number of SHG members were also present, marking an active and engaged start to the month-long campaign.

During the programme, recognitions were awarded to individuals and groups who have made notable contributions to women’s development and financial inclusion. The district’s top five Lakhpati Didis, seven BC Sakhis and four District Resource Persons working under the PRI–CBO convergence initiative were honoured for their achievements. Selected SHGs also received financial assistance through cheque distribution to strengthen ongoing livelihood activities.
As part of the launch, bank credit amounting to ₹60.5 lakh was disbursed to ten SHGs. Tripura Gramin Bank provided ₹53.5 lakh, while Canara Bank extended ₹7 lakh. Officials stated that the credit support will accelerate income-generating activities and contribute to strengthening the district’s rural economy.
The Nayi Chetna 4.0 campaign is expected to position Dhalai district as a proactive contributor to women’s empowerment and community-driven reform, enhancing both social awareness and economic resilience across rural areas.
