Agartala, Nov 25: The Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and his cabinet for introducing two new schemes aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and development.
At a press conference held at the party’s Krishnanagar office, BJP chief spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said the government’s recent decisions underline its commitment to ensuring balanced development across the state. He noted that the two schemes announced by the Chief Minister reflect a targeted approach to improving connectivity and rural planning.
Chakraborty said the government has launched the Mukhyamantri Gram Samparka Yojana, under which rural roads situated within a 50-metre to 1-kilometre radius of National Highways will be brought under a unified connectivity plan. The initiative is designed to link rural habitations with highway networks, thereby improving access to urban centres and essential services.
He added that the second scheme, Tripura Gram Samridhi Yojana 2.0, will use data-driven methods to assess and implement developmental works in rural areas, ensuring better monitoring and outcome-based planning.
Chakraborty also mentioned the Chief Minister’s virtual inauguration of over 15,000 newly constructed houses built in the last two years. He further highlighted the decision to extend retirement and service benefits to 13,082 government employees who received ad-hoc promotions, who will now be treated as regular.
He thanked the government and said these initiatives demonstrate the administration’s priority towards overall development in the state.
