Agartala: Nov 24. A shocking security breach occurred at Khumulwng Polytechnic Institute campus after three unidentified individuals one of them identified as James Debbarma allegedly entered the premises without permission and attempted to attack students with a knife, according to a formal complaint filed with Radhapur Police Station.
The complainant, Sankuma Debbarma, reported that the trio not only carried out a physical threat but also misbehaved with two female students, pulling at their clothes and allegedly attempting sexual assault. The complaint further states that the accused chased three other students, triggering panic across the campus.
Debbarma urged police to retrieve and review CCTV footage from the college, which is expected to show the suspects’ movements and confirm the sequence of events.
Calling the incident a serious violation of student safety, the parent demanded quick and strict action against the identified accused and urged authorities to trace the two remaining suspects. The complaint also requested the implementation of stronger security measures on campus to prevent such breaches in the future.
Police to initiate an investigation based on the complaint.
