Agartala: Nov 24. A high-level preparation meeting was held in Bishalgarh on Monday ahead of the upcoming state-level Dhamail Festival. The event, organised by the Sepahijala District Information & Cultural Affairs Department, will take place at the new Bishalgarh Town Hall on December 12 and 13.
In the meeting, MLA Sushanta Deb was appointed as the Chairman of the festival committee, while Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, Subhash Dutta, and Additional District Magistrate of Sepahijala Subhash Dutta, were named Co-Chairpersons. It was also decided that on November 27, additional sub-committees will be formed at the new Town Hall.
The preparation meeting was held at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s conference hall and attended by several key officials besides appointed Chairperson and Co-Chairpersons were Vice-Chairman, Advisory Committee of ICA Dept; Anjan Purkayastha, Chairperson, Bishalgarh Municipal Council; Manoj Saha, Joint Director, ICA Dept; Panchali Debbarma, Officer-in-Charge, Sepahijala ICA; Social workers Biplab Chakraborty and Uttam Dutta; SDM Binky Saha and others.
The district ICA office is organising the two-day festival, which will be held at the new Bishalgarh Town Hall. The main agenda of the meeting was finalising preparations, responsibilities, and committee roles for the upcoming cultural event.
