Tripura, 18 Nov 2025: A sensational and alarming incident has unfolded this evening in Kailasahar, where long-standing tensions over contractor-related business turned into a violent confrontation. While the dispute had so far remained limited to the southern part of the town, today the conflict escalated dramatically at Tila Bazar one of the busiest markets in the northern region.
According to initial reports, a bitter rivalry between two contractor groups erupted into a full-scale clash, leaving several people injured. Eyewitnesses stated that contractors from the Lathiyapara area and the Irani area suddenly engaged in a violent confrontation at Tila Bazar.
Local traders alleged that a red-coloured vehicle present at the spot had weapons inside. During the chaos, the vehicle was vandalised by an angry crowd, and multiple individuals from both groups were seen bleeding.
Soon after receiving the alert, a large police contingent from Irani Police Station rushed to the scene. The police brought the situation under control, sent the injured to the hospital, and detained several individuals for questioning at Irani Police Station. Later, during the police inspection, eyewitnesses claimed that weapons were indeed recovered from inside the red VIP vehicle.
The Tila Bazar Committee strongly condemned the incident, accusing the two groups from different localities of disrupting peace in an otherwise calm market area. The committee has demanded strict action against those responsible for creating unrest.
Eyewitnesses also confirmed that two rounds of gunshots were fired during the clash. However, the exact number of injured persons is yet to be officially confirmed.
The situation remains tense, and further details are awaited.
