Agartala: Nov 18. The Tripura State Council for Science & Technology on Tuesday kicked off a two-day Technology Adoption & Demonstration-cum-Workshop on “Flomop and Mospray” at Sitesh Smriti Community Hall, Tulashikor RD Block, aimed at training rural mission members and SHGs in manufacturing aromatic-based disinfectant products.
Speaking to reporters, Science & Technology Minister Animesh Debbarma said an MoU has been signed between the Council, the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), Lucknow, and the Department of Science & Technology to help rural groups upgrade their skills in producing aromatic household items such as floor cleaners and disinfectants.

He highlighted how essential oils like lemongrass extract can be used to develop advanced, scent-rich disinfectant products skills that participants will learn during the training.
A total of 60 trainees from six blocks joined the workshop. The technical sessions will be conducted by Dr. Ramesh Kumar Srivastava, Senior Principal Scientist of CIMAP.
The programme was attended by Principal Secretary Chaitanya Murti, Director Mahender Singh, and local block leaders including the BAC Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
