Agartala: Nov 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually inaugurated a 480-seat Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Akhrabari in Padmabil Block today, marking a major boost for tribal education in Tripura.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Ranjit Debbarma said the new EMRS would significantly enhance educational opportunities for tribal students and open a new chapter for the Khowai district’s learning ecosystem. He emphasized that the school would ensure access to quality education for children from tribal communities.

The event saw the presence of TTAADC Executive Member Suhel Debbarma, Padmabil Block Advisory Committee Chairman Prashanta Debbarma, Vice Chairman Surjit Debbarma, Khowai Additional District Magistrate Abhijit Chakraborty, social worker from Ramchandraghat Sukesh Debbarma, and EMRS Headmistress Sagarika Das, among others.
The construction of the school building was completed at a cost of ₹48 crore.
