Tripura, 14 Nov 2025: A school student died after being bitten by a snake. The deceased has been identified as Jonaki Deb, a resident of Purba Ramchandraghat under Khowai Police Station.
According to reports, the incident took place on Thursday evening at the house of her private tutor.
Sources informed that Jonaki had gone to her tutor’s house for lessons. After some time, she stepped outside to attend to a natural call when a venomous snake suddenly bit her on the leg. She immediately fell ill. The tutor, who witnessed the incident, promptly informed Jonaki’s parents.
Her parents rushed to the spot and took her to Chebri Primary Hospital in Khowai. After initial treatment, the attending doctor referred her to Khowai District Hospital. Unfortunately, upon arrival, doctors at the district hospital declared her dead.
The tragic news left Jonaki’s parents, relatives, and the entire locality devastated, casting a pall of grief over the area.
