This mega regional event aims to serve as a convergence platform for farmers, scientists, entrepreneurs, students, and development agencies, with the primary objective of bridging the gap between agricultural innovations and grassroots implementation. It seeks to promote knowledge exchange, technological dissemination, and farmer empowerment, fostering sustainable and inclusive agricultural transformation in the North Eastern Hill (NEH) Region.
The fair will feature a series of competitions and thematic shows, including vegetable, flower, and dog shows, to highlight creativity and excellence in agriculture and allied sectors. A major attraction will be the Exhibition Pavilion, showcasing stalls from research institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and state development departments. The exhibits will display modern technologies, improved seed varieties, post-harvest innovations, and success stories from progressive farmers and agri-startups, encouraging collaboration and learning.
A special highlight of the event will be the Farmers–Scientists Interaction Programme (Kisan Gosthi), enabling direct engagement between farmers and agricultural experts. These sessions will address practical topics such as agronomy, pest management, soil health, water-use efficiency, horticulture, and climate-resilient farming systems.
Live demonstrations and awareness sessions will also be organized on key national initiatives including Per Drop More Crop (PDMC), Oilseeds and Pulses Mission, Kisan Credit Card Scheme, Integrated Farming System (IFS), National Beekeeping Mission, Natural and Organic Farming, Drone Didi Initiative, and Polyhouse (Greenhouse) Technologies, with a focus on rural community development in border areas.
The fair will further host a Business and Investors’ Meet to connect Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), agri-startups, and investors, fostering discussions on value chain development, market access, branding, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The CAU Regional Agri Fair 2025-26 is expected to draw wide participation from farmers, students, government departments, and development agencies across the northeastern states. The event stands as a celebration of agricultural innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity, symbolizing CAU’s continued commitment to transforming agriculture through science, technology, and community engagement.
