New Delhi, November 10, 2025: A powerful explosion ripped through a Hyundai i20 car near the Subhash Marg traffic signal, close to the Red Fort Metro Station, around 7:00 PM on Monday, sending shockwaves across the capital. The blast caused injuries to several pedestrians and damaged multiple nearby vehicles.
Confirming the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said,
“This evening, around 7 pm, a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi. The blast injured some pedestrians and damaged several vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that some people have lost their lives.”

Within minutes of the explosion, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch and Special Branch teams rushed to the scene, cordoning off the area and initiating an immediate investigation. Teams from the National Security Guard (NSG), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) are now combing the site for evidence.
Sources confirm that all nearby CCTV footages are being thoroughly examined to trace the sequence of events leading up to the explosion. Delhi Police Commissioner and Special Branch officials are personally supervising the on-ground operations.
Home Minister Amit Shah stated that “all possibilities are being explored”, emphasizing that the investigation would leave no angle unchecked. He is expected to visit the blast site shortly and then meet the injured victims admitted to nearby hospitals.
The area around Red Fort and Chandni Chowk remains under heavy security, as bomb disposal squads continue their sweeps to rule out the presence of any additional explosive materials.
