Tripura, 7 Nov 2025: Once again, the law and order situation in Bishalgarh has come under serious question after a shocking incident on Friday morning. According to reports, a cattle-laden vehicle coming from Kamthana towards Bishalgarh was intercepted by BSF jawans from the Kamthana BOP. However, instead of stopping, the vehicle sped away.
During the chase, the cattle truck rammed into two other vehicles before reaching the New Market area, where the weekly cattle market was underway. As soon as the BSF team reached the spot, a section of the crowd turned violent vandalizing the BSF vehicle and attacking the jawans. The sudden outbreak of violence led to chaos in the market area.
At least five BSF personnel were injured in the attack. The injured were immediately rushed to Bishalgarh Hospital for treatment.
Speaking to the media, a doctor from the hospital said, “A few BSF jawans were brought here. They said that while trying to stop a vehicle, they were attacked by members of the public. Two of them suffered severe pain in their hands, and one had a serious head injury. We have given them primary treatment, and further investigations have been advised.”
Soon after the incident, senior officials and police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control. They strongly condemned the attack, addressing traders and locals in the market. Officials said, “You should be ashamed that soldiers who risk their lives protecting our borders were attacked right in front of you.”
The situation was later brought under control, and additional forces were deployed in the area. Police have started an investigation to identify and arrest those involved in the violence.
Authorities have assured strict action against the culprits and emphasized that attacks on security personnel performing their duty will not be tolerated.
