Agartala: Nov 06. Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu paid a surprise visit to Khowai district on Thursday to inspect several border areas following his day-long tour of North Tripura. The Governor’s visit aimed to review the implementation of various central government schemes, particularly in education, health, and self-help group (SHG) sectors, as directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Upon arrival, the Governor was welcomed by Khowai District Magistrate Rajat Pant, accorded a Guard of Honour by Khowai district police at the District Magistrate’s office premises. After a brief interaction and breakfast at the DM’s office, he proceeded to inspect key border locations including Gournagar, Belchhara, Bagabil, and Khengrabari.
Addressing the media, Governor Reddy said his North Tripura visit was focused on evaluating the ground-level execution of centrally sponsored projects and ensuring that government benefits reach the grassroots. He emphasised that similar inspections will continue across other districts to ensure transparency and effective governance.
The Governor clarified that Thursday’s visit was limited to border regions only, and that he would return to Khowai next month for a detailed tour of various interior villages. During that visit, he plans to assess firsthand how far the central projects have been implemented in rural areas.
The brief Khowai visit concluded in the afternoon, marking another step in the Governor’s ongoing district-level assessment programme across the state.
