Tripura, 6 Nov 2025: The state government is committed to ensuring timely delivery of pensions and other benefits to retired government employees. To streamline this process, a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) has been introduced to digitally record all necessary employee information before retirement.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated a one-day workshop on “National Wide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0” at Muktadhara Auditorium today. The workshop was organized by the Finance Department with the objective of helping pensioners submit their life certificates digitally from home using mobile applications or computers.
Senior officials from the Finance Department, along with representatives from various banks, treasuries, the Accountant General’s office, post offices, and Common Service Centres, participated in the event.
In his inaugural address, the Finance Minister urged all pensioners to take advantage of this campaign, emphasizing that the initiative aims to enable retired employees to receive pensions without having to appear physically before authorities. He informed that there are currently 80,019 state government pensioners in Tripura.
“Earlier, retired employees had to wait for a long time to receive their pensions, but things have changed now,” the minister said. He stressed the need for better coordination among the Finance Department, treasuries, banks, and the AG’s office to further simplify the process. He also directed that similar workshops be conducted in every district and subdivision.
Highlighting the government’s digital initiatives, he said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the mission of building a Digital India, and our state government is following his vision by introducing digital systems at all levels from the Assembly and Secretariat to districts, blocks, and panchayats.” He added that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, a roadmap has been prepared to build a developed Tripura by 2047 in line with the Prime Minister’s vision.
Finance Secretary Apurba Roy, in his address, said that Tripura currently ranks fourth in the country in terms of digital governance implementation and called for collective efforts to bring it to the top position.
Additional Secretary Akinchan Sarkar announced that help desks for pensioners will be set up in all treasuries to assist them under this campaign, which aims to deliver good governance through digital means.
Other speakers included Palash Bhowmik, State Coordinator of SBI, and Sanchita Roy, Assistant Manager of Punjab National Bank. Also present were Uttam Chakraborty, Senior Accounts Officer from the AG’s office; Badal Roy, Treasury Officer (I); Suman Rakhit, Treasury Officer (II); and Vivek Pathak, Assistant Manager of PNB.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Debasmita Kilickdar, Joint Secretary of the Finance Department. A detailed technical session followed, where resource persons discussed various aspects of the campaign.
