Tripura, 5 Nov 2025: A horrifying incident of domestic violence shook Charilam Puranbari area near the Forest Office late Tuesday night. Local sources said that a man named Nirdhan Dey attacked his wife Ruma Roy Dey during a heated argument at home.
In a fit of rage, Nirdhan allegedly hit his wife several times on the head with a stick. The brutal attack left her bleeding from her head, nose, and ears before she collapsed by the roadside. Hearing her screams, neighbors rushed to the spot, but by then, the accused had already fled.
Locals immediately alerted the Bishalgarh Fire and Emergency Service. The rescue team soon reached the location and found the woman lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where the on-duty doctor was shocked by the severity of her injuries.
After providing first aid, doctors referred her to GBP Hospital in Agartala for better treatment. However, there was reportedly no family member available to accompany her. Meanwhile, police from Bishalgarh Women’s Police Station have launched a search to nab the absconding husband.
