Tripura, 4 Nov 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday shared another piece of good news for medical aspirants in the state. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 50 additional MBBS seats for Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital in Agartala.
With this approval, the total intake at TMC has gone up from 100 to 150 seats, taking the overall number of MBBS seats in Tripura to 450.
Dr. Saha said that in the last three years, Tripura has added 225 new MBBS seats, calling it a major milestone in the state government’s ongoing efforts to improve medical education and healthcare infrastructure.
Expressing his gratitude, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for their continuous support and guidance in strengthening Tripura’s health sector.
