Tripura, 2nd Nov 2025: Peace and harmony are the foundation of progress and maintaining that atmosphere across the state is a top priority for the Tripura government. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Syandan Patrika and Syandan TV Sharad Samman programme at Rabindra Centenary Hall in Agartala on Sunday.
“Development can only happen when there is peace and unity. The state government is committed to ensuring a peaceful environment where every community can grow together,” the Chief Minister said. He added that both the people of Agartala and those from tribal areas celebrated this year’s Durga Puja with great enthusiasm and mutual respect, reflecting the state’s spirit of togetherness.
Dr. Saha highlighted that the government is working sincerely to promote and preserve the rich tribal culture of Tripura. He also praised the changing face of the state’s “club culture,” saying, “Today, clubs and social organizations are actively contributing to building a better society. They are organizing social events and working for community welfare.”
He emphasized that everyone must come forward to help build “Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura” a vision of a united and progressive state.
Recalling the legacy of Syandan Patrika, the Chief Minister said the newspaper has become a trusted name in Tripura after overcoming many challenges.
The programme was attended by Agartala Mayor Deepak Majumder, former High Court Judge S.C. Das, noted singer Rajib Das of Dohar, Syandan Patrika Editor Subal Kumar Dey, and Managing Director Abhishek Dey. Senior journalist Saraju Chakraborty delivered the welcome address.
On the occasion, three individuals including a widow, a reformed drug addict, and a person who overcame financial hardship were felicitated for their courage and achievements. The Chief Minister handed over mementos to them.
Dr. Saha also presented the Sharad Samman awards to 28 clubs, social organizations, and community Durga Puja committees that were recognized for their creative themes and contributions during this year’s Durga Puja celebrations.
The event celebrated not only cultural excellence but also the shared values of peace, unity, and resilience that define Tripura’s social fabric.
