Agartala: Nov 01. In a commendable initiative to bridge the digital divide, the 124th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Salbagan, Agartala, in collaboration with The Computer Point, has launched a free computer education programme for underprivileged students. The training, which began on Saturday, will initially benefit 25 students, equipping them with basic computer skills to help them become self-reliant in the digital era.
Dhananjay Bhattacharjee, Administrative Officer and Regional Director of The Computer Point, said the initiative focuses on building students’ futures through digital literacy. “As we live in a digital age, nothing is possible without computer knowledge. This programme will benefit those who cannot afford professional training,” he said.

Bhattacharjee added that the three-month course, reduced from the usual six months, will cover skill development, digital awareness, and topics like online safety, hacking risks, and AI technology. “If these children can later earn using these skills, it will be a success for us,” he noted.
Officials and personnel of the 124th Battalion attended the event. They emphasized that such efforts will continue, with more initiatives planned to promote education and skill development among economically weaker sections of society.
