Tripura, 30 Oct 2025: Agitated candidates gathered at the Directorate of Health Services on Thursday, submitting a deputation demanding the immediate cancellation of the recent government Optometry recruitment examination, alleging that the question paper was leaked and that the entire process lacked transparency.
Speaking to the media, the job aspirants claimed that soon after the exam, several PDFs and online links went viral on WhatsApp groups, containing 70–80% of the same questions in the exact serial order as in the actual examination. They argued that such a coincidence was impossible since no question papers or OMR carbon copies were allowed to be taken out of the exam hall.

The candidates also alleged that some questions contained incorrect or incomplete options, and that a few examinees were given multiple OMR sheets, raising further doubts about the fairness of the process. They urged the health department to nullify the exam and conduct a re-examination through a credible body like TPSC or JRBT, ensuring a transparent and standardized recruitment procedure.
One female candidate told reporters:
“Our main issue is that the question paper we got was exactly the same, in serial order, as the one that went viral that’s not possible unless it was leaked. We met the officials, and they gave us a positive response. We’ve submitted our written complaint, and we hope the department will stop the ongoing process and conduct a re-exam transparently through TPSC or JRBT.”
A male candidate added:
“We, the graduate optometrists of Tripura, came here because after the exam, PDFs and links with the exact same questions started circulating online. The questions appeared to be copied directly from certain online sources. Some answers were wrong, and some candidates received multiple OMR sheets, which is unacceptable. We demand that the current process be held and a fresh, transparent exam be conducted.”
The candidates submitted a memorandum to the department and expressed hope that the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) would take prompt action to ensure justice and fairness in the recruitment process.
