Tripura, 29 Oct 2025: During a vehicle checking drive at Poharmura, police recovered a tree-cutting machine on Wednesday afternoon. Around 2 PM, officers from Subhash Park Outpost and the traffic police jointly set up a checking point in the area.
According to reports, a speeding scooter violated the traffic signal and attempted to flee. In the process, police managed to recover a tree-cutting machine that was being carried on the scooter. However, despite giving chase, the scooter and its riders could not be traced.
Later, around 3 PM, Officer-in-Charge of Subhash Park Outpost provided detailed information about the incident.
He said, “A short while ago, i am SI Ranjit Sarkar, ASI Shyamal Debbarma, and other staff were conducting naka checking near Ghormura market. A scooter came at high speed, and we signaled it to stop, but it didn’t. Instead, it sped away, dropping a tree-cutting machine on the road. We tried to chase it but couldn’t catch up. We are now working to trace the scooter owner and identify who the machine belongs to.”
