Tripura, 29 Oct 2025: Although Tripura is a small state, it has secured a special place in the country for successfully implementing various welfare schemes. Tripura ranked first in the country in the Dharti Aba Janbhagidari Abhiyan. Officials in the state work at the grassroots level to ensure the effective execution of every government project. Minister for Tribal Welfare Bikash Debbarma said that officials and public representatives must continue to work shoulder to shoulder to take Tripura further ahead in the coming days.
The minister was speaking at a review meeting on the developmental works of various departments held at the Panchayat Samiti Hall in Kumarghat.


During his address, he emphasized that the overall development of Tripura lies in the progress of tribal and indigenous areas. He said the dry season is approaching, and areas facing drinking water shortages must be prioritized. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation has been instructed to take early measures to ensure water supply to highland areas. Similarly, the Water Resources Department has been asked to keep all irrigation projects operational so that farmers can cultivate winter vegetables without difficulties.
Speaking on improving the education sector, the Minister assured that there will be no shortage of funds for the development of education in the state.
Officials from various departments including Drinking Water and Sanitation, Health, Rural Development, Forest, Tribal Welfare, Water Resources, PMGSY, Power, Social Welfare and Social Education, Fisheries, Animal Resource Development, TRP & PTG, Youth Affairs and Sports, TREDA, School Education, and ADC administration presented detailed reports on their respective departmental activities.
The review meeting, presided over by Minister Bikas Debbarma, was attended by Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Sumati Das, Kumarghat BAC Chairperson Taponjoy Reang, Pecharthal BDO Omkar Deb, Kumarghat Boarding House Committee Chairperson Radhamala Debbarma, Unakoti District Welfare Officer Dipankar Saha, Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer Bidhan Debnath, District Education Officer Prashanta Kilikdar, and several other officials.
