Tripura, 29 Oct 2025: A seminar was organized yesterday to raise awareness about the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
The event was held at the Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti Hall in Dharmanagar, organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education.
The seminar was formally inaugurated by Aparna Nath, Chairperson of the North Tripura Zilla Parishad. Among others present were Mihir Ranjan Nath, Chairman of Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti; Bhavatosh Das, Vice-Chairperson of North Tripura Zilla Parishad; Tinku Sharma, Chairperson of Kalachhara Panchayat Samiti; Bidyabhushan Das, Vice-Chairperson of Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti; Sanjib Debnath, BDO of Kadamtala Block; and Adi Hossain, District Social Welfare and Social Education Officer.
Alongside the seminar, an eye check-up camp was also organized, where 104 senior citizens underwent eye examinations. Those who required spectacles were provided with free eyeglasses.
The program was attended by panchayat heads, deputy heads, members, and other local representatives from various gram panchayats.
