Tripura, October 8: A decomposed body of a man believed to be over 70 years old was recovered from a stream in Bhagyapur Ward No. 1, under Dhanbilas Gram Panchayat in Kailasahar subdivision on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bindu Madhab Sinha, a resident of Debipur area. According to local sources, residents of Bhagyapur noticed the body floating in the stream early in the morning and immediately informed the police.
Upon receiving the information, a team from Kailasahar Police Station rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was later sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Speaking to the media, Sub-Inspector Kinkor Pal of Kailasahar Police Station said:
“We recovered a dead body from the stream this morning. It has been identified as Bindu Madhab Sinha, son of late Bholananda Sinha, a resident of Debipur Ward No. 1. The estimated age of the deceased is above 70. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.”
The recovery site, known locally as Bilachhara in Bhagyapur, has drawn local residents who gathered at the scene in large numbers.
Police have begun a detailed investigation to uncover the circumstances behind the elderly man’s death, which remains unknown at this stage.
