Agartala, 06 Oct 2025: The family of a 14-year-old girl has lodged a formal complaint with the police against a local fish trader, accusing him of persistently harassing their minor daughter.
The accused has been identified as Kishan Sarkar, a 40-45-year-old man involved in the fish business near Ashwini Market, who resides in the Indranagar area. The victim is the 14-year-old daughter of U**** Kumar Das, a resident of the D*** area.
According to the family, Sarkar has been stalking and harassing the girl for over ten to fifteen days. The situation escalated to the point where the family felt compelled to approach the East Women’s Police Station to seek intervention.
While the family has not yet filed a formal First Information Report (FIR), they have provided a detailed account to the police. They have specifically requested that the police officially warn kishan Sarkar to cease his activities.
The Family’s Account
The girl’s father, who works as a painter, explained his initial reluctance to confront the man directly, stating, “I have to go to work. I didn’t want to get into a conflict or create a scene because if I don’t work, my family won’t survive.”
His concerns grew when he noticed his daughter frequently talking to the accused’s son. Upon questioning her, he learned that the son would often visit on a motorcycle, sometimes causing her to miss school.
The father then confronted the accused directly. He stated, “I told him, ‘Brother, I will file a police complaint against you.’ To which he arrogantly replied, ‘Do whatever you can.'”
Fearing for his daughter’s safety, the family proceeded to the police station.
Police Response and Ongoing Tensions
The family reported that the police have taken note of their complaint. However, the situation remains tense. The family alleges that after they visited the police station, the accused and his associates made threatening statements, reportedly saying, “If child [the girl] dies, you will be responsible.”
The girl’s family claims they responded by saying they would accept the risk and hold the accused accountable for any harm that comes to their daughter.
The local authorities are now investigating the matter, and the family is awaiting further action, including the official warning they requested against the accused.
