Tripura, October 4, 2025: The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura, celebrated its 28th Foundation Day in conjunction with the Closing Ceremony of Annual College Week 2025 on Friday with grandeur and enthusiasm.
The celebration began with the assembly of invitees, students, faculty and staff, followed by a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. Dignitaries were felicitated, and the ceremonial lamp was lit, marking the auspicious opening of the event.




Mr. M. Sanju Singh, SWO & Organizing Secretary, briefed the gathering about the week-long activities of Annual College Week 2025.
The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Yogendra Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor of National Law University, Tripura, congratulated the College on its successful journey of 28 years. He lauded its contribution to fisheries education and research in the North-Eastern region and encouraged students to pursue innovation with discipline. Prof. Singh also emphasized the potential for collaborative initiatives between the College of Fisheries and NLU in areas of fisheries law, legislation, and policy highlighting their importance in shaping effective frameworks for sustainable fisheries management in India.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. A. Ranganath, Registrar of ICFAI University, Tripura, underlined the role of youth in driving the future of the fisheries sector. He urged students to apply their skills and knowledge towards sustainable development.
In his address, Prof. Arun Bhai Patel, Dean of the College, appreciated the active participation of students in academic, sports, literary, and cultural events. He highlighted the institution’s achievements and encouraged students to continue striving for excellence.
The event also featured prize distribution for cultural, literary, and sports competitions, along with recognition of Academic Excellence awards. The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a vibrant cultural night showcasing the diverse talents of students.
The day not only celebrated the college’s achievements but also reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing excellence in fisheries education and research for the future.
