Tripura, 29 April 2025: Hritaraj Sarkar and Debjit Bhowmik, Class 10 students of Hariananda English Medium Higher Secondary School in Tripura’s Gomati district, have earned national recognition after being selected for the prestigious YUVIKA 2025 (Yuva Vigyani Karyakram) residential programme, organized by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Out of thousands of applicants from across India, only 350 students were selected this year, and both Hritaraj and Debjit have secured their places among them marking a proud moment for their school and the district.

YUVIKA, or the Young Scientist Programme, is ISRO’s flagship initiative to nurture young scientific minds by providing foundational exposure to space science, technology, and applications. The programme aims to spark interest in space exploration among students and introduce them to emerging trends in the field.
Their selection was made possible through consistent academic performance and proactive engagement, supported by the guidance of chemistry teacher Bidisha Majumder, who played a key role in monitoring the process.
The headmaster of Hariananda English Medium H.S. School and the District Education Officer also extended crucial support throughout. Gomati District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma congratulated the students on their achievement and expressed hope that their success would inspire many more young learners across the state.
The YUVIKA programme is scheduled to take place at ISRO centres across India and includes lectures by senior scientists, hands-on experience with space technologies, and visits to various space facilities.
