Tripura, 14 April 2025: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu yesterday inaugurated the Garia Puja and festival at the sacred Ram Bari in Killa. Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that Garia Puja is performed over seven days by the indigenous communities of the state, seeking peace, harmony, and prosperity. He noted that the festival, once limited to indigenous groups, has now evolved into a universal celebration with devotional participation from people across all communities.




Highlighting development efforts, the Governor stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, significant strides are being made for the welfare of the tribal communities. The present state government, with support from the central government, is working towards preserving the culture, traditions, and overall development of the tribal population.
On this occasion, the Governor also unveiled a souvenir published by the Jamatia Hoda. State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, while speaking at the event, emphasized that the current government is committed to maintaining peace and harmony in the state and is dedicated to ensuring basic amenities for every citizen.
Others who spoke at the event included Chief Executive Member of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Purna Chandra Jamatia, MLA Rampada Jamatia, and Swami Sharadpuri Maharaj from the Haridwar Shibdayal Ashram.
Hoda Advisor Datamohan Jamatia delivered the welcome address. Among those present were Killa BAC Chairman Baganahari Molsom, Gomati District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, and representatives from various levels of the Jamatia Hoda community. The Governor and other dignitaries also visited various exhibition stalls set up by different government departments as part of the fair.
