Tripura, 10 April 2025: Eight-year-old Rajsmita Das from Sekerkote, West Tripura, has brought pride to the state by winning the prestigious title in the popular reality show Akashe Superstar, aired on Kolkata’s leading TV channel Akash 8. Competing against much older contestants, Rajsmita impressed the judges and audience alike with her exceptional singing talent and stage presence. Trained by her mother, Debosmita Dutta—who is also her first guru Rajsmita stood out from the beginning. For the final round, she chose a song as a tribute to her mother’s childhood mentor, Mitali Ghosh.
Her soulful performance moved the judges, one of whom remarked, “It feels like this song truly belongs to you,” and gave her a standing ovation, saying the quality of her singing transcended mere scores. Rajsmita’s victory has filled her parents, Rajib Das and Debosmita Dutta, with immense pride.
The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Tripura and the media for their support and blessings, and they hope Rajsmita continues to bring more glory to the state in the future.
