CM Stresses Public Awareness for Disease Prevention
Tripura, 07 April 2025: Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha has emphasized the need to make people more aware in order to prevent various diseases. Speaking at a health rally organized by the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura in front of Ujjayanta Palace on the occasion of World Health Day, the Chief Minister called for changes in daily lifestyle to stay healthy and encouraged others to do the same.
He stated that apart from spreading awareness, people must also remain conscious about disease prevention, especially concerning drug abuse and HIV. He added that the state government is working towards strengthening the healthcare infrastructure with modern facilities.

The current budget includes provisions to set up new Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in several districts. Additionally, a modern eye hospital is being planned to further enhance healthcare services in the state. The Chief Minister noted that now almost all medical facilities are available within Tripura, which has reduced the need for people to travel outside the state for treatment.
However, he stressed that preventive health awareness is the key to avoiding illness. CM Dr. Saha also mentioned that while the state is progressing in various sectors, strict measures are still required to curb child marriage.
He said the government is closely monitoring the issue and focusing on awareness campaigns. The event was inaugurated with a welcome speech by Dr. Pradip Bhowmik, Director of the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura. Among other notable attendees were the Foundation’s President Dr. M. L. Bhowmik, Secretary Dibakar Debnath, and representatives from various organizations. The Chief Minister flagged off the health rally and also took part in it himself. The rally passed through several parts of the city.
